Melissa Chiang, MD

Melissa Chiang, MD is the Primary Care Track Chief Resident at NYU Grossman School of Medicine for the 2022-2023 academic year. She completed her undergraduate training at Columbia University, where she graduated magna cum laude with a major in neuroscience and behavior. After taking a gap year to work at Health Leads, a nonprofit organization aimed at addressing systemic barriers to health and decreasing inequity in medicine, she attended Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons for medical school. While there, her love of primary care grew through her involvement with the Daniel Noyes Brown Primary Care Scholars program and the Columbia-Harlem Homeless Medical Partnership, a student-run free clinic that provides primary care services to the homeless and uninsured community of West Harlem. She then continued her primary care training at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, where she was drawn to Bellevue’s service-driven mission. She hopes to continue caring for underserved patients in urban areas throughout her career.
